My fascination with Iceland began in my childhood. My grandparents had just returned from a trip to this wonderful country and they showed me a book of aerial photographs of Icelandic landscapes, which they had purchased in Reykjavik. My interest was immediately caught by the wide range of colors and the abstract shapes of the riverbeds and mountain ranges. It was incomparable to anything I had seen before. Although it took a few years for me to travel there myself, those images stayed fresh in my mind.
